My name is Shawn Bradley. I am 47, unmarried, with no children. I am a Leo, have 2 dogs, a pitbull and a boxer. I was born and raised in Manchester, NH to two wonderful parents who let me think freely, learn from my mistakes, and molded me into the person I am today. Caring, hardworking, and driven. I have two older sisters and am a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews.
When I am not working, I enjoy keeping busy by spending time with my dogs, going on drives, traveling, and I am into animal activism and rescue initiatives. I also enjoy spending time with family when I can. I am an optimist, realist, and a fiscal conservative. I moved to California City from Anaheim in 2014. I am an animal lover and the founder/CEO of Fetch Animal Rescue here in Kern County. I am also an (EMR) software application coordinator for an east coast health system.
Every day I wake up excited for what the day may bring. I live by the motto "Failure Only Happens When You Give Up". You see even if you don't succeed at something, if you do not give up and keep trying, you haven't yet failed.
I hope to serve the citizens of California City so together we can make the changes we all desire. All hope is not lost, and we must never give up trying to help the city fulfill its potential. No more roadblocks. It is time to fix the issues and move forward together.
Below are some of the milestones throughout my life.
I registered the non-profit organization Fetch Animal Rescue as a way to take my passion and help cats and dog who are strays, abused, neglected, or facing euthanasia in a shelter. As the founder/CEO of Fetch, I am determined to make a difference in Kern County and beyond, in an effort to save as many as possible.
On July 2, 2016, I opened Creamland in California City. About 6 months later, I closed the doors. The experience afforded me valuable lessons and enabled me to become acquainted with many people.
I moved from Anaheim to California City in December 2014. Seeing I work remotely, I decided to buy a house and found California City as a place I saw potential in with affordable homes to buy. Today, I still believe there is potential for more, and not all hope is lost.
In Feb 2014 SMOKETEL launched smoketels.com. The 1st smoking hotel rooms only reservation site, similar to Expedia and others, but catered to smoking rooms only. In the summer of 2013, I became a remote employee at work and decided to move to California to help my sister who was a single parent raising 2 teenage children. I also wanted to start an online company that would self-operate and have a potential to grow, as I sought an opportunity to be an entrepreneur in my free time.
I got a new job opportunity at another health system in Virginia and moved into corporate housing for the first few years, before becoming a remote employee and moving. I still work for the health system today almost 12 years later as an Application Coordinator for our EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Software Application.
I got my certification in EpicCare Ambulatory for the EPIC (EMR) Electronic Medical Record software application, so that I can build/maintain the application in a healthcare setting. My certification is still active.
I got a new job opportunity at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and worked there until Dec 2010 as an (OSA) Optimization Sustainment Analyst/Practice Laison in charge of the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software application for numerous ambulatory specialties throughout the health system.
I got a job at a Fundraising software company in Manchester, NH that made a program called GiftMaker Pro. I started off in support, then a few years later I became a remote employee as an Implementation/Sustainment Manager and moved to Boston, MA. I was responsible for training users, providing support, and other tasks.
